Stockton University’s dedication to supporting military veterans has been acknowledged once again, securing the 7th spot among small public schools nationwide in the latest Military Friendly ranking.

Among New Jersey schools in the small public schools category, Stockton claimed the top position in the survey. This marks the third consecutive year that Stockton has earned a Military Friendly designation, showing consistent improvement in its rankings. In the 2023-24 assessment, Stockton was honored with the Gold award, following the Silver award in the 2022-23 academic year.

The Military Friendly Schools survey, conducted by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, evaluates colleges and universities’ efforts in supporting military and veteran students. Stockton’s success in this area is attributed to the unwavering commitment of its faculty and staff in assisting military-affiliated students throughout their academic journey.

Michael Barany, the director at Stockton, emphasized the student-centric approach adopted by the center and its partners in financial aid, fostering relationships crucial for providing personalized support services and necessary referrals to both on- and off-campus resources.

The Military Friendly Schools Awards designation is granted based on evaluations using public data sources and responses from a specialized survey. Out of over 1,800 participating schools in the 2024-25 survey, only 10 in the small public schools category received a numerical ranking.

Stockton’s program is particularly lauded for its support of National Guard and Reserve students who experienced activation and deployment challenges in the past year. The collaborative efforts between the Military and Veterans Success Center (MVSC) and faculty ensured minimal disruption to these students’ academic pursuits.

The commitment to enhancing the success of military-affiliated students personally, academically, and professionally has been pivotal in Stockton’s recognition through the Military Friendly Designation.
