The rankings of the top high school girls’ soccer teams in the Long Beach area by The Press-Telegram are as follows:

  1. Millikan (16-2-1): With consecutive Moore League championships under their belt, the Rams are poised for the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs. Millikan has dominated its league opponents, boasting a remarkable 78-1 goal difference.

  2. Los Alamitos (14-5-5): Securing the Surf League title, the Griffins are strong contenders for a spot in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs.

  3. Downey (13-4-3): Currently enjoying a five-game winning streak, including a notable 3-1 victory against crosstown rivals Warren on Jan. 25.

  4. Paramount (19-2-3): The Pirates recently drew 0-0 against Cerritos, ranked fifth in the standings.

  5. Cerritos (10-5-2): Emerging victorious in the 605 League over their rivals from Artesia.

  6. Wilson (10-6-2): Despite a recent 2-0 loss to top-ranked Millikan, the Bruins continue to showcase their competitive spirit.

  7. St. Joseph (13-5): On a commendable four-game winning streak, the Jesters secured the third position in the Del Rey League, trailing behind St. Genevieve and Bishop Amat.

  8. Warren (8-10-4): Despite a 3-1 defeat against Downey, the Bears bounced back with a convincing 4-0 victory over Mayfair.

  9. Valley Christian (12-6-2): Clinching the Olympic League title, the Defenders have shown their prowess on the field.

  10. Long Beach Poly (6-8): The Jackrabbits are set to secure one of the Moore League’s automatic playoff berths.
