Allen County Schools names Harper to top position

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – Allen County Schools has named Trey Harper as the new Director of Pupil Personnel and Human Resources.

The school district made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, saying Harper begins his new duties on July 1. He is the current principal of Allen County Intermediate, serving in the role since 2022.

Harper began his journey in education as a teacher and guidance counselor at Highland Elementary in Glasgow. His journey in education continued at Allen County Intermediate, initially serving as assistant principal and later as principal.

“Trey Harper is an exemplary leader whose commitment to our community and dedication to educational excellence is well demonstrated. His comprehensive understanding of both pupil and personnel needs will be invaluable in advancing our district,” said Allen County Superintendent Travis Hamby. “I am confident that Trey will continue to champion the success of our students and staff with great enthusiasm.”

In his new role, Harper will oversee the pupil personnel and human resources departments, ensuring that the district continues to provide robust support for students and staff, the district said.

“I believe that this position will allow me to have an impact on our students, staff, and community as a whole as we move forward with initiatives to make Allen County Schools the best district around,” Harper said. “I look forward to the opportunity to use my leadership and counseling skills to assist students and help them reach their greatest level of success.”

Harper graduated from Western Kentucky University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in School Counseling. He also studied Instructional Leadership at the University of the Cumberlands.

He is married to Mallory Harper, and they have five children: Ivan, Jace, Henry, Mary Claire, and Stella.
