### Globetrotter Extraordinaire: Exploring the World One Adventure at a Time

Wright State University’s Master of Information Systems program offers military veteran Brandon Hubley the flexibility to pursue his degree while exploring the world.

Having traveled to 65 countries across all seven continents during his military and government contracting career, Sidney native Brandon Hubley always finds his way back to Wright State University. Hubley is set to graduate from Wright State in August, having previously obtained an undergraduate degree in foreign policy and intelligence studies from Bellevue University in Omaha, Nebraska.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force and being deployed to Baghdad during the early stages of the Iraq war, Hubley transitioned to the U.S. Army and served with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, completing multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Following his military service, Hubley worked as a government contractor, taking on assignments abroad. Eventually, he transitioned to intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance work, contributing to missions in Iraq, Syria, and Eastern Africa.

With his GI Bill benefits set to expire, Hubley sought a graduate program that he could complete efficiently. He chose Wright State’s Master of Information Systems program, which offers a hybrid format of in-person and online classes, allowing him to balance his studies with his travels.

Hubley’s capstone project focuses on analyzing data breaches in the American health care system, showcasing his academic dedication and expertise. Despite his rigorous academic pursuits, Hubley also finds time for adventure, recently exploring Easter Island, Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, and Nacional Los Glaciares Park in El Calafate, Argentina.

Recognized for his intelligence and approachability, Hubley is praised by Professor Amir Zadeh as an exemplary graduate student. Zadeh commends Hubley’s quick learning abilities and motivation, foreseeing a bright future ahead for him.

While Hubley’s professional path may be uncertain, his decision to enroll at Wright State has proven to be a rewarding one. He encourages students to explore unconventional career paths that challenge them and broaden their horizons, emphasizing the value of his educational experience at Wright State in shaping his perspective on the professional world.
