Wayland High School Ranked High On U.S. News ‘Best’ List For STEM Curriculum

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland High School was rated the 11th best high school in Massachusetts on the 2024 U.S. News & World Report ranking — but the school was actually ranked higher thanks to its focus on math and science.

Aside from being No. 11 — and No. 321 out of the 25,000 high schools across the U.S. on the list — Wayland High School was ranked the No. 7 best STEM high school in Massachusetts. WHS was No. 49 on a national level for schools that specialize in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

U.S. News picks the top high schools based on students who score high on math, reading and science assessments, as well as strong performance among under-served students. The magazine also counts graduation rates and college readiness as part of the assessment. Wayland ranked best (No. 7 statewide) in the subcategory measuring student performance on MCAS tests.
