### Validation of TOEFL Scores by US Universities via Indian Study-Abroad Partners

Universities in the United States will now have the capability to authenticate TOEFL test scores through their Indian study-abroad associates, as per the Educational Testing Service (ETS). ETS, headquartered in Princeton and renowned for administering assessments such as TOEFL and GRE, has forged a partnership with Career Mosaic, a prominent student recruitment agency for US universities in South Asia, to facilitate score validation. This initiative aims to provide US universities with verified scores, thereby significantly bolstering the credibility of student profiles submitted to them. Moreover, it is expected to streamline the administrative processes for US universities, ensuring a more efficient and seamless student enrollment procedure.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of non-native speakers seeking admission to English-speaking universities. Recognized by over 12,000 institutions across 160 countries, TOEFL is widely accepted in popular study destinations like the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and by more than 98% of universities in the United Kingdom. Sachin Jain, the country manager for ETS India and South Asia, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Career Mosaic to authenticate TOEFL scores of applicants to US universities. This partnership is poised to enhance universities’ confidence in the accuracy of the scores provided.

The recent collaboration between ETS and Career Mosaic underscores their shared commitment to furnishing universities with dependable and efficient solutions for evaluating the English language proficiency of prospective students. Notably, ETS introduced several modifications to the 60-year-old TOEFL test last year to enhance the test-taking experience. These changes included shortening the test duration to under two hours, as opposed to the previous three hours, and enabling candidates to view their official score release date upon test completion.

Manisha Zaveri, the joint managing director at Career Mosaic, highlighted the significance of the TOEFL score verification services provided by ETS through Career Mosaic in India. This collaboration is expected to fortify the integrity of TOEFL test scores and benefit both universities and the increasing number of Indian students pursuing higher education opportunities in the USA. Blerina Polovina, the director of international admissions and business development at Webster University USA, lauded the initiative, emphasizing that validated TOEFL scores will streamline the university admission process and expedite student enrollment. By eliminating the need for universities to verify English proficiency scores independently, validated scores will facilitate a more efficient and trustworthy admissions process for students and institutions alike.
