The STEM programs at Oklahoma State University are recognized as some of the finest in the country, as per the rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
In the 2024 U.S. News Best Online Programs evaluation, over 1,600 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs were reviewed based on specific online learning criteria. These rankings focused on programs that are primarily offered online by institutions with regional accreditation.
OSU achieved a top 10 placement, sharing the 9th spot, in the category for Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs for Veterans.
Dr. John Veenstra, the interim dean of CEAT, expressed excitement and pride in the acknowledgment of their faculty and staff’s hard work in achieving outstanding rankings for the online master’s in engineering programs and for veterans. He highlighted the 25-year legacy of excellence in these programs, attributing its success to the innovative contributions of Dr. Ken Case, an emeritus regents professor in industrial engineering and management, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Veenstra commended the exceptional faculty, instructors, and staff at CEAT for their support in providing global students with opportunities for professional growth through online graduate programs.
Furthermore, CEAT secured a place in the top 15% of institutions for online master’s in engineering programs, tying at No. 14. This marks an impressive 18-spot advancement from the previous year, placing them ahead of other notable Big 12 schools such as Kansas State University, Texas Tech University, University of Central Florida, and the University of Oklahoma.
OSU was recognized in four different categories, with Spears ranking in the top 5% for the best online master’s in MBA programs, sharing the 16th position. This represents an 11-spot improvement from the previous year, surpassing other Big 12 institutions like Kansas State University, Texas Tech University, and the University of Oklahoma.
In a category focused on programs for veterans, OSU tied at No. 14 for the best online MBA programs for veterans, positioning the university in the top 15% nationally.
Vince Rivera, the OSU veterans success coordinator, highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting military-affiliated students nationwide, providing them with accessible and outstanding academic opportunities.
Spears Business achieved the 20th position for the best online business analytics MBA programs and ranked in the top 100 for the best online master’s in business programs. Dr. Jim Payne, the dean of Spears Business, credited the faculty and staff for delivering a high-quality educational experience to the students.
OSU secured a place in the top half of universities, tying at No. 141, for the best online master’s in education programs, surpassing counterparts like the University of Oklahoma and West Virginia University.
Additionally, OSU was listed in the top 200 for the best online bachelor’s degree programs, outperforming a significant portion of the field in this category.
