### Latest US News & World Report Rankings Highlight UAB Online’s Continued Excellence

Two online programs from the UAB Collat School of Business have secured positions in the top 25 rankings, demonstrating continued growth and success.

UAB Online provides a diverse range of programs, including 12 online undergraduate programs, 29 online graduate programs, 13 online undergraduate minor programs, and 39 online certificate programs. The 2024 rankings highlighted the exceptional performance of two education programs from UAB, positioning them among the top 25 in the country.

Provost Janet Woodruff-Borden, Ph.D., expressed pride in the recognition received from U.S. News for the university’s exceptional online programs. This acknowledgment reaffirms UAB’s dedication to delivering high-quality education that is accessible to students regardless of their location. The student-centric approach, coupled with innovative curriculum design, advanced technology, and robust student support services, has created a dynamic and enriching learning environment for virtual learners at UAB.

In the 2024 USNWR online rankings, the Collat School of Business at UAB maintained its impressive No. 4 ranking nationwide. Additionally, another program secured the No. 18 spot in the country, placing it in the top 10 percent nationally. Furthermore, UAB achieved a notable improvement, with a ranking of No. 52, climbing two positions from the previous year and marking its best performance in six years.

UAB’s achievements extend to various categories, with recognitions such as being ranked No. 21 for online [ppp1] and No. 38 for Online Bachelor of Business in the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs by USNWR. Moreover, UAB secured the No. 30 spot for online [ppp2], showcasing a five-spot advancement from the 2023 rankings.

The university’s accomplishments in online education are further underscored by its second-place ranking for online graduate business degree programs in Alabama. UAB also maintains a position in the top 50 institutions offering online bachelor’s degrees. Particularly noteworthy is UAB’s attainment of the highest sub-ranking in Alabama for the faculty credentials and training category. Additionally, UAB’s online MBA program stands out as the second-best among the eight programs surveyed in Alabama.

The USNWR online rankings evaluated a record number of programs, assessing 1,752 and ranking 1,680 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The assessment criteria encompass faculty credentials, available student services and technologies, student engagement, and expert opinions on academic program quality for undergraduate rankings. Graduate program evaluations consider these factors alongside student excellence.

Special attention is given to veteran program rankings, which are determined based on responses from online surveys. To be eligible for inclusion, schools must meet specific criteria related to their support for military-affiliated students. Specialty rankings rely on peer assessment surveys, ensuring that schools with verified specialty offerings and peer recognition are duly acknowledged for their expertise and quality education provision.
