Top 100 Public High Schools In CT Revealed By U.S. News For 2024: Do You Agree?

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut public high schools ranked second in the nation, with just under 43 percent of its schools in the top 25 percent, according to the list published Tuesday from U.S. News & World Report.

Among the 198 ranked schools, 16 schools are in the top 5 percent nationally, and 85 were in the top 25 percent.

State-by-state performance is based solely on which states have the largest proportion of schools in the top 25 percent. Massachusetts once again leads in the ranking. Just behind Connecticut are New Jersey, Maryland and Florida, respectively.

The top high schools have students who score exceptionally high on math, reading and science assessments, as well as strong performance among under-served students. High school graduation rates and college readiness among graduates are also measured.
