In the recent rankings by Poets&Quants for Undergrads, which evaluates undergraduate business schools, three institutions from Virginia secured positions within the top 50 out of 91 schools. The rankings, based on admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes, highlighted the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce as the leading business school in Virginia, maintaining its impressive No. 4 position for the second consecutive year. Notably, McIntire excelled in the academic experience category, earning the highest possible score.

Dean Nicole Thorne Jenkins of McIntire expressed pride in the program’s ability to provide academic and professional support to students, enabling them to create a positive impact through commerce both locally and globally. She emphasized the faculty and staff’s dedication to delivering transformative learning experiences that contribute to the program’s ongoing success.

Following closely behind, the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business secured the second spot among Virginia’s undergraduate business schools, ranking 18th overall. The school distinguished itself by reporting that all 2023 graduates seeking employment were successfully placed within three months of graduation, a feat shared only with Florida Southern College.

The school’s efforts were reflected in this year’s rankings, underscoring their adaptability in a dynamic global landscape.

William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business, the third Virginia institution on the list, secured the 48th spot overall. Notably, the school leaped 20 places from its previous ranking in 2023, marking the most significant advancement in this year’s rankings. William & Mary’s strength was evident in the admissions standards category, where it ranked 15th.

The top position in the rankings was claimed by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Poets&Quants collected admissions and career data primarily through institutional surveys conducted between July 2023 and December 2023. Additional insights, such as alumni achievements and high school performance, were gathered through alumni surveys. The academic experience data, sourced from alumni surveys spanning three years, showcased the schools’ commitment to delivering a robust educational experience.
