KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The accountability rankings for school districts in Tennessee were recently published by the Tennessee Department of Education in February. This initiative is a crucial component of the state’s accountability framework, distinguishing districts that are excelling from those that require additional support.
According to the Tennessee accountability system, districts are expected to enhance student achievement and demonstrate growth across all student demographics. The evaluation of districts is based on various metrics, including success rates within specific grade bands, rates of chronic absenteeism, performance on the English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA), and graduation rates.
