### Top Position Secured by IE Business School in 2024 Financial Times Online MBA Ranking

Hello everyone – Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a concise summary of the top updates in business school news, brought to you by

I’m Kristy Bleizeffer, your host, here to spotlight the key P&Q stories you might have overlooked. Let’s dive in.

The Financial Times recently crowned IE Business School’s online MBA program in Spain as the premier long-distance MBA globally, amidst a landscape of over 350 online MBA offerings in the U.S. alone. Despite the vast array of options, the FT ranking features only ten programs, with a mere two based in the U.S.

While this ranking is notorious for the absence of major players in business education, it’s noteworthy that more than five times the number of online MBA options exist, amounting to 345 online MBAs, underscoring the competitive nature of the field.

Interestingly, the top-ranked program in both aforementioned lists, Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, is notably excluded from the FT ranking. Moreover, the Financial Times’ compilation overlooks notable European online alternatives, including ESMT Berlin’s competitively priced long-distance MBA.

Despite the discourse surrounding the challenges for women pursuing business education and demanding post-MBA professions, Kawatra embraced her pregnancy as a deliberate and welcomed step in her life’s trajectory.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we invited Kawatra to reflect on her career progression, the decision to embrace motherhood, and the balancing act within a prestigious MBA program.
