**Ohio State Emerges as Top Choice for Four-Star Running Back and Several Other Recruits**

Ohio State’s April Recruiting Success

At the beginning of April, Ohio State made significant strides in their recruiting efforts. The Buckeyes had a busy weekend filled with spring practices and various official and unofficial visits. This recruiting blitz proved to be immensely successful for Ohio State.

The momentum from the weekend carried over into the new week as the coaching staff continued their recruiting efforts. Notably, the Buckeyes are now emerging as a top choice for one of the country’s premier running backs.

Steve Wiltfong, the VP of National College Football Recruiting and Transfer Portal at On3, and former Director of Recruiting at 247Sports, predicted that Ohio State is in a favorable position to land the talented 2025 four-star running back, Jordon Davison from Mater Dei in Santa Ana, CA.

Davison’s recent visit to Ohio State was reportedly highly successful, coinciding with the team’s search for a replacement for former RB coach Tony Alford, who has moved to Michigan. Once Ohio State finalizes Alford’s replacement, they aim to further strengthen their relationship with Davison.

Davison, ranked as the No. 7 running back and the No. 83 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, hails from California, a state known for producing top-tier talent.

Ohio State’s Inclusion in Top School Lists

Following a fruitful recruiting weekend where Ohio State secured four verbal commitments, their efforts continued to yield results. The Buckeyes recently made the cut for two promising prospects in the 2025 class.

Firstly, Ohio State emerged as one of the top schools for Trent Wilson, a four-star defensive line recruit from Dr. Henry Wise in Upper Marlboro, MD. Wilson, who boasts over 30 offers, narrowed down his choices to Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Penn State.

Wilson plans to take official visits to all four finalist schools, with his visit to Ohio State scheduled for late May. While he hasn’t indicated a frontrunner among his top choices, Ohio State and Penn State are currently in a favorable position in his recruitment process.

Ranked as the No. 18 defensive lineman and the No. 141 overall prospect, Wilson is also the third-ranked recruit from Maryland.

Additionally, Ohio State made the final list for Javeon Campbell, a three-star edge prospect from Western Hills in Frankfort, KY. Campbell, who is still early in his recruitment process, narrowed his options down to nine schools, including Ohio State, Alabama, and others.

Despite being a three-star recruit, Campbell’s list of top schools is impressive, indicating the high regard in which he is held by these programs.

Ohio State’s Ongoing Recruitment Efforts

Ohio State’s recruiting efforts remained relentless following their successful weekend. The coaching staff extended offers to several highly sought-after prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes.

Among the recruits showcasing their official scholarship offers on social media were standout prospects like four-star linebacker Thomas Davis from Weddington in Matthews, NC, and defensive lineman Drew Harris and Aiden Harris from the same area.

In addition, wide receiver Mikkel Skinner from Riverside in Greer, SC, received an offer from Ohio State, further demonstrating the Buckeyes’ commitment to securing top talent.

Notable Development: Cody Haddad’s Recruitment Update

Ohio State’s pursuit of safety Cody Haddad from St. Ignatius in Cleveland, OH, took a significant turn after his recent visit to the campus. Following his visit, Haddad made the decision to decommit from Wisconsin. Moreover, Bill Kurelic, a 247Sports Ohio State Recruiting Insider, placed a Crystal Ball Prediction in favor of Haddad choosing the Buckeyes.

Haddad, ranked as the No. 37 athlete and the No. 527 overall prospect, is also the 16th-ranked recruit from Ohio. His potential commitment would further bolster Ohio State’s recruiting class, highlighting the team’s continued success in securing top talent.
