Comments: Lincoln Southwest is still No. 1, but here comes Creighton Prep. The Junior Jays graduated 15 seniors last season but are rolling now with two wins against rival Omaha South in a stretch of eight days. Kearney has won three straight and its coach, Scott Steinbrook, reached the 300-career wins milestone this week during his 25th year.

Matches to watch: Friday—Heartland Athletic Conference tournament championship. Monday—Lincoln Southwest at Gretna.

Comments: The list of undefeated teams dropped from four to two after Crete and Conestoga each lost for the first time last week. Bennington won the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament, and also got an impressive 3-2 win against Omaha Skutt on Monday. Lexington won the Central Conference tournament.

Matches to watch: Thursday—South Sioux City at Creighton Prep, Conestoga at The Platte. Saturday—Scotus Central Catholic at Elkhorn North.

Comments: After its overtime win against Gretna last week, Lincoln Southwest has wins this season against the No. 2- and No. 3-ranked teams. Lincoln East has a chance for a big week with the Heartland Conference tournament championship game on Thursday and a regular-season match against Gretna on Saturday.

Matches to watch: Thursday—Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament championship (Lincoln East vs. Lincoln Pius X, 6 p.m., Seacrest Field);. Saturday—Lincoln East at Gretna, Omaha Westside at Lincoln Pius X.

Comments: The top four teams were a combined 10-0 over the past week and it will be a surprise if they aren’t the four state semifinal teams in the new look Class B state tournament that now includes first-year program Gretna East. In the championship of the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament, Norris beat Elkhorn 4-1, giving the Titans a fourth straight conference tournament championship.

Matches to watch: Thursday—Blair at Bennington, Schuyler at Scotus Central Catholic.
