– Top-Rated Johns Hopkins Graduate Programs Retain National Ranking

Johns Hopkins University boasts 38 graduate schools, academic programs, and specialties that have been recognized among the top 10 in the nation, with nine of them securing the prestigious No. 1 position, as reported today.

At Hopkins, two schools, including [ppp1] and [ppp2], have achieved the top rank overall, with another school making its way into the top 10, according to the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report.

While parts of the publication’s annual rankings were unveiled today, the rankings for the schools of medicine and engineering are slated for release at a later date.

Here are some of the notable rankings revealed today:

Nursing

The School of Nursing has maintained its No. 1 position for the third consecutive year. Additionally, it shares the top spot in another category, marking an improvement from last year. Within the field of gerontology, the school has ascended to No. 1 for primary care and No. 2 for acute care. The doctoral programs at the School of Nursing have secured the following ranks:

  • Psychiatric/mental health: No. 1
  • Family: No. 3 (tied)
  • Leadership: No. 4 (tied)
  • Nursing Anesthesia: No. 36 (tie)

Public Health

The Bloomberg School continues its longstanding dominance as the No. 1 public health program since the inception of the rankings in 1994. In specialized areas, the Bloomberg School excels with the following rankings:

  • Environmental Health Sciences: No. 1
  • Epidemiology: No. 1
  • Health Policy and Management (Public Health): No. 1
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences: No. 1
  • Biostatistics: No. 2

Education

Johns Hopkins has risen to a tie at No. 8 in the Education category, a significant improvement from its previous ranking of No. 13. The institution also shares the No. 23 spot in higher education administration programs.

Public Affairs

Overall, Johns Hopkins’ public affairs programs are tied at No. 39. In specific subcategories, the institution is tied at No. 6 in Health Policy and Management (Public Affairs), No. 11 in International/Global Policy and Administration, and tied at No. 35 in Public Policy Analysis.

Biological Sciences

Hopkins shares the No. 6 spot overall with six specialty rankings in the top 10:

  • Molecular biology: No. 3 (tie)
  • Cell biology: No. 4
  • Neuroscience: No. 4 (tie)
  • Immunology: No. 5
  • Genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics: No. 6 (tie)
  • Biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology: No. 8

Biostatistics

Hopkins is positioned at No. 1 (tie) for Biostatistics at the doctoral level. It is worth noting that U.S. News & World Report also ranks biostatistics as a subcategory of public health, where Hopkins holds the No. 2 spot.

Chemistry

The university is tied at No. 20 in Chemistry and ranks No. 9 in the Biochemistry subcategory.

Computer Science

With an overall tie at No. 24, the university is also tied at No. 21 in the Artificial Intelligence specialty.

Earth Sciences

Hopkins is tied at No. 30 in Earth Sciences.

Economics

The program in economics at Johns Hopkins shares the No. 22 position.

English

In the English category, Hopkins is tied at No. 13 overall, with the following specialty rankings:

  • British literature: No. 10 (tie)
