### Explore the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at LISD

The forthcoming commencement of the LISD transfer window affords families the chance to apply for a transfer to enroll in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. To delve deeper into this opportunity, the district will host a virtual information session on Feb. 29 from 5-6 p.m.

While informative sessions have taken place at various middle school campuses recently, the district recognizes that families may have further questions. This virtual session is designed to furnish comprehensive information to all Leander ISD eighth-grade students and their families about the IB program, assisting them in deciding if it fits into their high school academic trajectory.

Even though students formally join the program in their 11th-grade year, those keen on pursuing the IB Diploma can choose to transfer to either [ppp1] or [ppp2] starting in ninth grade.

The IB program, well-known for its focus on inquiry-based learning, global outlook, and collaborative abilities within a diverse setting, offers coursework during both junior and senior years. This curriculum not only allows students to earn college credits but also provides them with a competitive edge in college admissions. Several Leander ISD graduates have successfully secured admission to their preferred higher education institutions, with a few even receiving recruitment offers based on their involvement in the IB program.
