Despite the top 10 teams collectively posting a remarkable 26-1 record, with Pinewood’s narrow 45-46 loss to the formidable St. Mary’s-Stockton being the sole defeat, there was no shift in the rankings.
However, a notable case further down the rankings involves Oakland Tech, which faced issues due to fielding an ineligible player. The team, previously ranked 14th, now faces scrutiny for its 4-16 record.
The inclusion of a team with such a poor record in the rankings raises questions. Yet, if Oakland Tech can secure victories in the Oakland Section and qualify for the playoffs, there is a chance for a resurgence towards the top ranks.
