The online nursing program at Georgia College & State University achieved the top position in the state and shared the 28th spot nationally in the rankings for “Best Online Programs” by U.S. News & World Report.
In the U.S. News & World Report rankings for the best online nursing programs, only three institutions from Georgia made it to the top 100.
Georgia College’s online graduate programs in business, criminal justice, and education all secured positions within the top 100 nationwide when compared to other programs.
President Cathy Cox of Georgia College expressed, “The School of Nursing at Georgia College & State University continues to attract the best and brightest students across all academic levels, from bachelor’s to master’s to our doctor of nursing practice.”
She further added, “Our online graduate nursing programs offer increased accessibility to our exceptionally skilled faculty, enabling working nurses to pursue advanced degrees conveniently. Earning the top spot in the state is truly an honor.”
Additionally, two programs from Georgia College’s J. Whitney Bunting College of Business and Technology received high rankings. The online Master’s Degree in Business (non-MBA) is ranked second in the state, following the University of Georgia, and holds the 43rd position on the overall U.S. News & World Report list.
Georgia College and the University of Georgia are the exclusive Georgia institutions listed in the top 100 of U.S. News & World Report’s rankings.
The online MBA program at Georgia College holds the 94th spot nationally and is second in Georgia. Once again, Georgia College is one of the two schools in the state to be ranked among the top 100 for online MBA programs.
Dr. Micheal Stratton, dean of the College of Business and Technology, remarked, “These rankings are a testament to the exceptional quality and innovative approach of our faculty members. They consistently provide a student-focused, highly interactive learning environment for working professionals and aspiring leaders.”
Furthermore, two other graduate programs at Georgia College made it to the top 100 rankings: the online Criminal Justice program at 61st place nationally and third in Georgia, and the online Master of Education at 100th place nationwide and within the top 10 in the state.
The online education graduate program at Georgia College has shown significant improvement since the previous year, climbing to the top 100 from its previous position at 132nd in the rankings.
Dr. Holley Roberts, associate provost for Academic Affairs and director of the Graduate School, emphasized, “These rankings reflect the exceptional quality of our accessible and affordable graduate programs. Our programs remain forward-thinking and innovative to meet the evolving needs of professionals in various sectors.”
As classified by U.S. News & World Report, Georgia College is designated as a Regional University South, encompassing a geographic area that includes twelve southern states. According to U.S. News, “Regional Universities offer a full range of undergraduate programs and some master’s programs,” along with limited doctoral programs.
Among other public institutions in Georgia within the regional South category, Georgia College leads in online Master of Business, online MBA, and online Criminal Justice programs, in addition to being the top online graduate nursing program among all Georgia institutions, both public and private.
