Walking down the corridors of the main floor in the NEAG education building. In 2024, Neag secured the No. 24 spot among the top 25 U.S. public graduate schools of education. This achievement marks Neag’s ninth consecutive year in the top 25 rankings, as reported in a university press release. Neag also shared the No. 34 position for both public and private graduate schools of education.

The University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education has attained recognition as one of the nation’s best for four of its graduate programs, a first in its history. Neag claimed the 13th, 25th, and 28th positions in special education, educational administration, and curriculum and instruction, respectively. Moreover, Neag secured the 23rd spot in educational psychology programs. Notably, all three departments of the Neag School—curriculum & instruction, educational leadership, and educational psychology—were featured in the 2024 special education program rankings.

While Neag’s special education program has previously held a high rank and climbed four positions from No. 17 in the 2023 rankings, this year marks the debut of the other three programs in the rankings.

Neag Dean Jason Irizarry expressed immense pride in the faculty, staff, and students for their hard work and dedication that led to these impressive rankings, as per the press release. He emphasized the significance of having four programs listed in specialty rankings, highlighting the high standards maintained across all Neag School departments. The recognition reaffirms Neag’s position as one of the top public graduate schools of education in the nation.

The press release disclosed that U.S. News conducted a survey involving 456 educational schools in fall 2023 and early 2024, with 265 responses meeting the ranking criteria.

The ranking methodology incorporated nine indicators, including total research expenditures, student selectivity, and assessment scores by peers.

Apart from the Neag School, UConn’s Schools of Business, Law, and Social Work also received commendable rankings in the U.S. News & World Report this year.

The School of Business’s part-time MBA program, FLEX MBA, secured the 33rd position nationally, advancing four spots from last year’s No. 37 ranking. The School of Law witnessed a significant rise of 16 positions, landing at the 55th spot in the 2024 best law schools ranking, with its part-time Evening Division program ranking No. 10 nationwide. Additionally, the School of Social Work climbed to No. 28 in the national graduate schools of social work ranking, positioning the school within the top 9% of social work programs in the country.
