### Embracing Education Reform: MoE’s Warm Welcome

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 — The Ministry of Education (MOE) has embraced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s address and the Cabinet’s decision, which mandates the consolidation of all preschool education systems under the ministry’s purview to uphold the quality of education in the country.

Fadhlina Sidek, the minister, stated that this move aligns with the MOE’s education reform agenda, especially in fortifying the nation’s education framework.

She mentioned, “The follow-up process has been accelerated with the participation of all department and division heads during today’s post-MOE Cabinet meeting.”

“The specifics of the transition to this new framework will be outlined soon, in collaboration with relevant ministries and stakeholders in early childhood education institutions.”

Fadhlina emphasized that the education reform plays a crucial role in ensuring inclusive access, quality education, and early intervention to address preschool dropouts.

On January 22, Anwar urged a review of the country’s preschool education system to mitigate disparities within the community.

He highlighted the necessity for MOE-operated preschools to offer comprehensive additional amenities to all students, even if it entails the government incurring new expenditures. — Bernama
