### Darden Ranks High Among Global Business Schools

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) – The University of Virginia Darden School of Business has secured a position in the top 20 of the Financial Times’ Top 100 global business schools ranking.

Darden has claimed the prestigious title of the top public business school worldwide, showing significant improvement across various categories compared to the previous year, where it held the third position.

Ranked 16th globally, Darden stands among renowned institutions like the University of Pennsylvania: Wharton, Insead, and Columbia Business School.

Within the United States, Darden holds the 11th spot in the rankings.

The evaluation criteria encompass a range of aspects including value for money, alumni achievements, diversity, academic research, environmental initiatives, and salary data.

Darden excelled in multiple areas, ranking fourth for overall student satisfaction, second for MBA goal attainment, second for environmental sustainability, fourth for alumni satisfaction (though not factored into the rankings), sixth for alumni network strength, and 10th for career services.

Notably, the full-time MBA Class of 2023 at Darden achieved the highest average starting salary in the school’s history for the fifth consecutive year, with a base salary averaging $167,899.

Furthermore, the median starting salary remained at a record high of $175,000 for the second consecutive year.
