### Top 10 High School Girls Basketball Rankings – Daily Breeze (Feb. 22)

The basketball championship games for the CIF-Southern Section and L.A. City Section are scheduled for this week. Below is the current top 10 list for the area:

DAILY BREEZE GIRLS BASKETBALL

1. BISHOP MONTGOMERY 19-5

Bishop Montgomery concluded CIF-SS Open Division pool play with a 76-55 victory against Corona Centennial.

2. REDONDO 24-6

As the Bay League champions, Redondo triumphed over Sonora and Portola in the playoffs but faced a loss to Harvard-Westlake in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

3. NORTH TORRANCE 22-7

North Torrance secured a win against Leuzinger in the Division 1 second round before falling to Santiago in the quarterfinals.

4. WESTCHESTER 22-5

Led by Mariah Blake, the Comets are heading to their third consecutive L.A. City Section Open Division final. Westchester is set to compete against Birmingham on Saturday.

5. LEUZINGER 25-5

Winners of the Ocean League title, the Olympians started the Division 1 playoffs with a victory over Marlborough but were eliminated by North Torrance in the second round.

6. MIRA COSTA 24-6

Mira Costa defeated Bishop Amat in the initial round of the Division 2AA playoffs but faced a defeat against Mark Keppel in the subsequent round.

7. SOUTH TORRANCE 22-8

The Spartans emerged victorious against Highland in the Division 2A playoffs’ first round but were unable to advance, losing to Notre Dame in the second round.

8. ST. MARY’S ACADEMY 15-11

St. Mary’s Academy suffered a loss to Rancho Christian in the first round of the Division 2AA playoffs.

9. TORRANCE 16-14

Although Torrance achieved victories against Notre Dame Academy, Providence, and Saugus in the initial rounds, they were eliminated in the Division 3AA playoffs.

10. WEST TORRANCE 18-11

West Torrance faced a defeat against Crean Lutheran in the opening round of the Division 2AA playoffs.
