**Top Performing Schools in San Antonio Ranked by Children At Risk**

SAN ANTONIO – Children At Risk has revealed its latest San Antonio School Rankings, showcasing the top schools in the region.

The nonprofit organization, committed to supporting children in Texas, has released rankings for the top five elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as the Top Gold Ribbon elementary schools.

High Schools

  1. Idea Carver
  2. Memorial Early College High School
  3. Health Careers High School
  4. Travis Early College High School
  5. Young Women’s Leadership Academy

Middle Schools

  1. BASIS San Antonio – Shavano Campus
  2. Lopez Middle School
  3. Great Hearts Irving Upper
  4. Eleanor Kolitz Hebrew Language Academy
  5. Young Women’s Leadership Academy

Elementary Schools

  1. Hoffmann Lane Elementary
  2. Blattman Elementary
  3. Wilderness Oak Elementary
  4. Castle Hills Elementary
  5. Kinder Ranch Elementary

This evaluation encompassed 582 schools across the broader San Antonio area.

“At Children At Risk, we focus on the holistic development of each child; a key component of their success is education,” stated Gretchen Himsl. “Our aim is to ensure that every school provides excellent public education.”

The Gold Ribbon School subset recognizes high-achieving schools with high poverty rates situated in conventional neighborhood settings.

Children At Risk also addressed a general decline in performance across all schools in Texas, attributing it to inadequate political backing for educators and the lingering effects of the pandemic on education. Nonetheless, there was an overall improvement in college readiness among high school students, signaling progress for all students in San Antonio.
