Numerous graduate programs at UNC-Chapel Hill have achieved impressive rankings, with 20 programs ranking in the top 10 nationally in their respective categories, according to the “Best Graduate Schools” list by U.S. News & World Report.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy has secured the top position among pharmacy schools in the U.S. for the third consecutive time (2016, 2020, and 2024). These rankings are determined through surveys of peers from accredited pharmacy schools nationwide and are released every four years.
Similarly, the Gillings School of Global Public Health has maintained its strong standing, ranking second out of 213 public health schools and programs in the U.S. This marks the seventh consecutive ranking period where Gillings has held this position. Additionally, the School has consistently been recognized as the leading public school of public health since U.S. News first introduced rankings for public health schools in 1987.
UNC-Chapel Hill Interim Chancellor Lee H. Roberts expressed pride in the exceptional quality of the university’s graduate programs, emphasizing their consistent recognition by U.S. News and World Report. The Provost, Chris Clemens, echoed this sentiment, attributing the success in rankings to the dedication of the faculty, staff, and students who drive the university’s mission forward through their daily efforts.
Furthermore, the School of Social Work has advanced in the rankings, now tied for fourth place overall and second among public universities. The UNC School of Law has also achieved a significant milestone, reaching the 20th position out of 196 law schools for the first time since the inception of law school rankings in 1987.
