### Two New No. 1 Teams Top ASWA High School Softball Rankings

This week’s high school softball rankings by ASWA showcase two fresh No. 1 teams.

Helena in Class 6A and St. James in Class 3A have ascended to the top spot, while the other top-ranked teams have retained their positions.

In Class 7A, Thompson claimed the top rank by a narrow margin over Hewitt-Trussville, following two closely contested games this season. Meanwhile, in Class 5A, Springville maintained its No. 1 status with Alexandria making strides to close the gap. Orange Beach in Class 4A remains the sole undefeated top-ranked team, joined by Wicksburg in Class 2A, Skyline in Class 1A, and Edgewood in AISA at the pinnacle of their respective rankings.

Helena secures its first-ever No. 1 softball ranking since its establishment in 2014, steadily climbing the ranks from Class 6A No. 5 in March 2017. St. James last held the top spot in 2008, culminating in their fifth state championship in Class 4A.

Notably, Orange Beach stands out as the undefeated leader in Class 4A, currently ranked nationally at No. 4, alongside Hewitt-Trussville at No. 16.
