If you peruse the popular newspapers, blogs, and social media platforms today, you’ll likely encounter the prevailing notion that the state of education is in jeopardy. While financial concerns play a role, the call for reform in Alaska’s education system is unmistakable.
In my discussions with state legislators, school district officials, education advocates, and the general public, I have been unequivocal. I advocate for increased funding for education, but I also emphasize the necessity for transformative changes in the way we approach education in Alaska.
