The ‘’ report surveyed 100 of the most successful organisations in the UK – from Microsoft to Morgan Stanley – to provide an overview of the graduate jobs market. According to the report, Bristol graduates were the fifth most targeted among UK universities.

Additionally, the report indicated that graduates entering these top 100 organisations could anticipate a median starting salary of £34,000 in 2024. Particularly noteworthy was the fact that graduates embarking on careers in investment banks could expect a median starting salary of £55,000.

The 100 companies included in the survey were selected from a list compiled by The Times newspaper and encompassed prominent names such as Google, the Civil Service, Amazon, Pfizer, HSBC, Tesco, Unilever, the NHS, the BBC, Mercedes Benz, and the Bank of England.

Bristol consistently achieves high rankings in the annual Graduate Market report. Stuart Johnson, the Director of Careers and Skills at the University of Bristol, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s fantastic to see our graduates once again being recognized as great hires for top companies. Bristol has maintained a position in the top 10 for over a decade, frequently ranking in the top five, which is a testament to the talent and creativity of our students, as well as the dedication of our exceptional staff who nurture and support them throughout their time at Bristol.”

Every year, approximately 350 employers visit the University of Bristol to engage with students and enhance their skill sets. Students have the opportunity to enroll in the ppp[1].

This year marked the introduction of ppp[2], an innovative initiative designed to assist students in developing, monitoring, and showcasing their skills to potential employers.

Statistics reveal that 94% of the University’s graduates secure employment or pursue further studies within 15 months of graduation.

The University’s Careers Service offers comprehensive support to students, including assistance with job placements, access to internships (some of which are funded by the University), and resources and guidance for establishing their own ventures.

According to the 2024 Graduate Market report by ppp[3], the universities with the most sought-after graduates were Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, Bristol, Warwick, UCL, Southampton, Durham, and Exeter. Cambridge ranked 13th, while Oxford placed 15th.
