**Zurich University Opts Out of Global Ranking System**

Taking a stand against the university ranking system presented by the Times Higher Education magazine, the University of Zurich has decided to withdraw its participation. The university expressed concerns that such rankings tend to incentivize misleading behaviors, as announced on Wednesday.

ETH Zurich Secures Top Spot as the Leading University in Continental Europe

Published on October 12, 2022, Switzerland’s esteemed federal technology institution, ETH Zurich, maintains its position as the premier university in continental Europe, according to Times Higher Education.

The university further elaborated that rankings may not accurately capture the full spectrum of the institution’s accomplishments in research and education. Consequently, the University of Zurich has opted to cease its involvement in the ranking process.

In the previous ranking for 2024 unveiled in September 2023, the University of Zurich was recognized as the 80th best university worldwide.
