### Top 3 Eco-Friendly Schools in Delhi Selected by Education Department

NEW DELHI: The green initiatives have been initiated in schools across the city by the Department of Education. As part of this program, three top ‘Green Schools’ will be identified in the government, government-aided, and unaided private school categories in the national capital.

The Directorate of Education under the Government of National Capital Territory (GNCT) of Delhi has been actively organizing tree-plantation campaigns and awareness programs. As part of these efforts, a Green Award will be presented to schools excelling in various criteria such as Green Area management, Tree Plantation, Waste Management, Plastic Reduction measures, Eco-Club Engagement, Community involvement, Solar Panel utilization, Energy Efficiency practices, and promotion of Carpooling among staff or provision of Cycle Stands for Students.

Schools interested in participating must complete their registration by March 31, 2024. The competition will be held at the state level, and the top three schools from each category will receive a Shield and a certificate in recognition of their outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability through effective greening and plantation initiatives.
