2024 ‘Best’ High School List: Where Does Glenbrook North Rank?

NORTHBROOK, IL — In all, 673 Illinois public high schools ranked as among the best in the country for quality education, according to a report released Tuesday from U.S. News & World Report. Glenbrook North made it into the top 100 high schools in the state.

According to the list, GBN is the No. 19 best high school in Illinois, and ranked No. 464 in the United States.

Here are a few other notes :

  • AP participation rate is 56 percent
  • Total minority enrollment is 32 percent
  • Student to teacher ratio is 14:1
  • Graduation rate is 96 percent
  • Mathematics proficiency is 72 percent
  • Reading proficiency is 72 percent
  • Science proficiency is 72 percent

In the list, Illinois ranks 24th among U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Among the 673 of ranked schools, 37 are in the top 5 percent nationally, 159 were in the top 25 percent.
