2 Lower Merion High Schools Among PA’s Best: U.S. News & World Report

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — U.S. News & World Report recently published its ranking of the and the nation. And, unsurprisingly, two Lower Merion high schools were among the best.

The outlet ranked 656 Pennsylvania schools.

The top high schools have students who score exceptionally high on math, reading and science assessments, as well strong performance among under-served students. High school graduation rates and college readiness among graduates are also measured.

With those factors considered, Harriton High School and Lower Merion High School were ranked No. 10 and No. 14 in the state, respectively.

Among Pennsylvania schools, Harriton is No. 8 in college readiness, No. 20 in the college curriculum breadth index, No. 26 in state assessment proficiency, No. 58 in state assessment performance, and No. 16 in graduation rate.

Harriton was also ranked No. 482 nationally.

As for Lower Merion High School’s position among other PA schools, it was ranked No. 19 in college readiness, No. 13 in the college curriculum breadth index, No. 24 in state assessment proficiency, No. 45 in state assessment performance, and No. 157 in graduation rate.

LMHS was ranked No. 670 nationally.
